I am Malabya. I am an Acquia certified full-stack Drupal developer & consultant residing in Bangalore, India. I have been working with Drupal since January 2012 with a broad background including PHP, Drupal 6-8 code, theming, server administration, training (internal/corporate) & technical project management.
Currently, I work at Specbee as the Drupal Practice Head where I lead the Drupal team & projects. Along the way, I try to introduce new practices to constantly evolve the development process which my team can benefit from.
An Open-Source advocated & an active community member with contributions in the Drupal project and participation in co-organizing monthly meetups for the Bangalore community.
At present, I am working with Specbee as Drupal Practice Head. Here, I am lucky to have a wonderful team working with me on exciting Drupal 8 projects. I got the opportunity to lead and handle a big team of around 20+ developers on different areas like contributing back to Drupal, having TechX (weekly knowledge sharing sessions) among ourselves, and organizing code sprints. Apart from that I also work closely with the pre-sales and the sales team providing technical guidance. Working at Specbee has helped me to have a more pragmatic approach in dealing with different problems.
I worked at Valuebound for over 3 years and I would say working there really moulded me to become the developer I am today. At Valuebound, I donned a bunch of hats. From working as a developer to managing a huge project. My journey at Valuebound helped me to learn how to [and how not] to lead a team.
At Axelerant, I had the best working experience. Axelerant being a people first company always had people who are ready to help, mentor and motivate you. I have not seen a better culture, transparency and care for the employee anywhere in my career till now the way Axelerant does. I worked there for around 1.5 years mostly working on big Drupal 7 projects.
I joined SourceN as an intern fresh out of college. I will forever be grateful to SourceN for employing me and giving my first break. This is where I got introduced to Drupal and I worked on several small & medium projects. The team at SourceN was really splendid and I made a lot of good friends along the way.
De.MI was a new company established by the founders of SourceN which is operating out of Gangtok, Sikkim. The team at De.Mi was entirely from S.M.I.T for which I was really comfortable working with them.
While working at Valuebound, I co-author a book on Drupal 8. It was about how to configure and develop your website using Drupal 8 in a step-by-step manner. I wrote the chapter on the REST module and services in Drupal 8. You can check it out at Amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/Drupal-Development-Beginners-Guide-Second-ebook/dp/B01F3LATOC)
This site is created using Drupal 9; hosted on a DigitalOcean instance running Apache2, TLS/SSL certificates using Let's Encrypt; and deployed
in iTerm2 Terminal using Github Action CI/CD pipeline. The codebase is version-controlled and open-sources on Github. You can check out the repository here.
This site is designed to be future-friendly, so please forgive me if it doesn’t play or work well on older browsers. As time goes on, I may roll out patches to improve support but no guarantees. It’s also a playground for me so I’m constantly trying new stuff, making changes, and probably breaking things.
